At Pathways Academy, we use the term “Advocate” to refer to any adult involved in the scholastics and well-being of our scholars. Advocates can be parents, relatives, guardians, friends, community members, and beyond. Advocates ensuring scholars have essential tools for healthy living and learning is a pivotal component to the success of our program. While this is a pillar, we do understand this responsibility can be daunting. For that reason, Pathways Academy believes a healthy and supported Advocate is equally vital. Because the needs and opinions of our Advocates matter, focus groups are conducted to ensure we are on the right path in safeguarding needs and offering support where needed. We ask our Pathways Academy advocates to pledge:
- To defend their scholars’ right to learn, be happy and healthy, and have a safe childhood;
- To support their scholars’ dreams and hopes for a better future and accompany them in their journey; and,
- To promote experiences that will positively impact their career choices.
